The U.S. Mission in Uganda is proud to announce that thirty Ugandans have been selected to participate in the 2016 YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship.
The 30 young Ugandan leaders will join colleagues from 49 countries across sub-Saharan Africa for a six week leadership training to improve their skills at various U.S. universities. They will also participate in a conference hosted by President Obama.
Speaking to the participants during pre-departure orientation, U.S. Ambassador Deborah Malac said, “You were chosen for this program for the work you are already doing. We appreciate your interest in this program and your willingness to go on this Fellowship. Each of you is here because you have a special story and are making a positive difference in Uganda.”
The Fellows have established records of accomplishment in promoting innovation and positive change in various organizations in Uganda.
