On January 21, 2014, U.S. Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi inaugurated the Muslim Youth Leadership Camp at Mariam High School, Kisaasi, Kampala.
The leadership camp was organized to benefit the youth to develop skills, ideas, and build friendships and tools to advance peace and respect for human dignity.
At the event, Ambassador DeLisi spoke to more than 100 Ugandan and Somali community youth leaders about the U.S. government’s commitment to advance values that unite Muslims and non-Muslims.
Ambassador DeLisi said “These principles and values, which unite Muslims and non-Muslims alike, are central themes in our common pursuit of justice, progress, tolerance, and respect for the dignity of all human beings.”
