Summary: The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of DriveCam Coordinator/Motor Pool Clerk.
The work schedule for this position is:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: No
Duties: Employee is responsible for a full range of program management responsibilities relating to the Mission’s DriveCam program. Reports to and assists the GSO in managing the entire DriveCam program under Chief of Mission authority. Monitors DriveCam website dashboards and performs administrative functions to keep the database current. Provides training to users of DriveCam. Monitors metrics and makes recommendations in areas of driver improvement, coaching, awards and discipline. Coordinates with OBO/SHEM for additional or replacement equipment and program requirements. Maintains all vehicle related records and prepares essential vehicle reports for submission. Serves as the GSO Motor Pool timekeeper. Supervision is received from the Motor Pool Supervisor.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in database management and IT management and knowledge in either occupational safety or health or transportation management is required. Must have experience working with customers.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have a thorough knowledge of web-based databases and internet applications. Must have thorough knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Power Point, and MS Word. Must be able to prepare and give presentations to all levels of audiences. Must be able to analyze and interpret graphs and prepare graphs in Excel. Should be familiar with vehicle and mechanical terminology Must have knowledge of general clerical procedures and familiarity with vehicle and mechanical terminology. Knowledge of the different agencies/sections and the drivers assigned to each agency/section.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level III (good working knowledge) writing/speaking/reading English is required. (This may be tested)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (This may be tested.)
Good communication and persuasive skills are required. Must be well organized and have the ability to extract complex data and prepare easy-to-read reports for users. Must be a self-starter and be able to come up with original ways to improve efficiency of the program and better ways to communicate with customers. Must have a Ugandan driver’s license (with classes B, CM, and DL). Must have thorough knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Power Point, and MS Word. Must be able to analyze and interpret graphs and prepare graphs in Excel. Basic typing skill is required.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
