PEPFAR Science Summit 2021
The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Uganda held its second annual Science Summit February 1 to disseminate recent and ongoing HIV and TB-related research from Uganda under the theme “Consolidating and Protecting Uganda’s Progress Toward Epidemic Control.”
Summit Objectives:
- To disseminate recent and ongoing HIV- and TB-related research from Uganda (PEPFAR-funded and non-PEPFAR funded)
- To discuss implications for national program and other planning (e.g. PEPFAR Country Operational Plan (COP2020), and the Global Fund)
Participants: U.S. government (CDC, USAID) and implementing partners, Uganda Ministry of Health, civil society partners, development partners, and other researchers.
The summit featured four sessions and each session consisted of a set of multiple five-minute presentations followed by Q&A/discussion led by session chairs or cochairs from PEPFAR and/or Uganda’s Ministry of Health.
