On October 21, the U.S. Embassy, in cooperation with the alumni of Fulbright program in Uganda, celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Fulbright exchange program at a reception at Makerere University.
In her remarks, Ambassador Malac said that the Fulbright Program, founded in 1946 to promote cultural exchanges and mutual understanding through educational exchanges, has since granted more than 399 exchange awards to Ugandans.
Among those in attendance were the Chancellor Makerere University Dr. Ezra Suruma, Fulbright Uganda alumni, Fulbright American scholars in Uganda and University students.
