U.S. Ambassador Deborah R. Malac joined President Museveni and other dignitaries yesterday to witness the signing of the Project Framework Agreement between the government and the Albertine Graben Refinery Consortium (AGRC).
This agreement will ensure the development, design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the oil refinery in Hoima District with an eventual capacity of 60,000 barrels per day. The Refinery Project is expected to create direct and indirect jobs for Ugandans and enable the transfer of both skills and technology while contributing to government revenue and economic growth.
The AGRC comprises Nuovo Pignone International SRL (a General Electric Company located in Italy), YAATRA Africa (Mauritius), Lionworks Group Limited (Mauritius), and SAIPEM SPA (Italy).
